Still can't get my head around why you had to build a special tune for your bike.
I understand the bit about having to adjust the Powertripp program to what you've got as they use different values (like comparing US gallons and UK gallons I spose) but isn't that what the AT is there for???
If you had a TuneECU map in your bike that was working reasonably well (like mine is) then shouldn't the AT have been able to refine those values from there anyway??
If not, then why should I pay the extra bucks???
No the AT does not read your ECU it uses AFR's set in the PCV, what the PCV is fool the ECU to give better fueling, Why the PCV is o popular is that it is easier to use than an TuneECU oir TuneBoy on a Dyno there are very few dyno operators can know thier way around the more complex TuneECU or TuneBoy the PCV work by them setting the ideal AFR's in the PCV and on the dyno while running adusting the fueling which can't be done with the T/ECU or T/B you have to stop anaklise the data and chnge maps then put back on dyno again and again untill you get ideal data .....a much more time consuming way of tuning the PCV and PCIII are done in a fraction of the time but ONLY change the fuelin the reason you need the TuneECU map is to get the other benfits ...ign map secondarys etc
Where the Auto Tune comes in is it is like having a dyno under the bike while riding. Now the reason I have come up with this table is that Wayne Tripp has spent endless hours formulating the ideal AFR's that work with nearly all different exhaust engine mods but the dynotune guys couldn't be bothered being so precise and use middle ground AFR's they usally leave a lot of colums blank because the TuneECU is close enought, In the case of Mitchs Dyno tune the guy left a hell of a lot of the columms blank because his TuneECU tune was fairly close ( every bike is ging to be slightly different yet they all perform their best at the correct AFR's these AFR's that are the same in every tune I have seen come from Wayne Tripp are magic, all i have done is for people like my self that don't have easy acess to a dyno get the very best out of the bike by setting the Wayne tripp AFR's up for the AT to follow I stress the AT does not follow the AFR's in the TuneECU tune
Also, if I've got a different TuneECU to what you've got and different intake/exhaust set up (which I will have soon enough), would the
map you've just made work as good for me as it did for you??
Yes
The reason I was going down the PCV + AT road was that it would/could self adjust the map as I included my new additions.
That was the winner for me. Now I'm not so sure.
