I made the "auto part store hose" work but while wrestling it on I guess I disturbed the water pump cover enough that it's leaking around all the bolts so I will address getting that O ring tomorrow, well I will pull the cover and clean and lube the O ring if it's not torn.
I greatly appreciate this.

Blew the short hose from chrome pipe to pump riding out in the country yesterday with some friends. Parked the bike at a store and rode home on the friends bike while he waited. Got my truck and trailer and rescued the Rocket. Tore it all down tonight to replace all the hoses. I sure hope I can get them quickly. Has anybody used the Samco Sport hoses? Where can they be had for a reasonable price ?

Breeze, got the hoses and did the swap, a token of appreciation is in route to you. got stuck working 12's all week and the A/C went out twice at the house ( thats another story). I am fixing to go take a quick ride and get my head right ( I am going to order the Samco's also).

I am using them after a similar incident some 10 hours from home but managed to find a heater hose that had the correct size ( old ford cortina) and that got me home, I believe these Samcos are meant to last a lot longer I got their clamps as well glad I did as good value mine took a little while to come but I received an email almost as soon as I ordered them to say there would be a delay and as soon they were ready to ship received another email, very happy with both the service and the product they have been on for a couple of years now and still look new

They are about $150 for five hoses and $30 for clamps.
Supposedly the cat's PJs and they come colored!
My bill was just over $200 and I have to wait four weeks for them to ship because I want yellow.
Others have gotten theirs in good fashion.
