YT has saved my a$$ more than once. Here is a good DIY video on painting a bike.. For $600 I'd give in :D but it's hard to find someone to do it at that price these day.. Good Luck...

Realize that the amount of product used only pertains to that particular brands line of products. Different manufacturers will take different amounts of each product. Talk to to sales rep of the brand you buy.

I'm by no means an expert, but know enough about painting to know I'm just not set up to do it. I'm going to have someone else do that. I know it's going to be $$$, but better than getting over spray all over my other toys. If I had room, I'd love to have a little ventilated clean room.

Not sure how things work in that upeard area of the country but down here you can rent a paint booth pretty reasonable. The bigger issue is decent guns to shoot the paint with.

@Rocket Scientist - Fred, I believe Morris is saying that he has a paint booth & all of the proper spray guns that you can use any time you want to come down ;) ;) ;) ;) :whitstling:

In reality we will be firing uo the paint booth in the near future. Keep in mind I'm not a painter...my buddy handles that part. I fix em...he makes em purdy

Fred, since you are repainting the tins and keeping your beast in the fastest color family available (that would be red, for all you mislead heathens), why not go with the finest and most rare of reds ever offered for the Rocket III, i.e., Mulberry Red (yes, I am prejudiced)?:p

I was going to paint it back red but when the tins arrived they looked like black mirrors. The Scottsman in me can't paint over perfect paint. So I ordered my saddlebags in black and am researching having it all done with navy blue tribal graphics.
