OK, WHO has the new seat?

Glad to hear that RMayer is now doing the R3 seat...had him do my Aprilia Caponord seat to an all day cruiser and it works very well.....if any Captains get the chance...ride to his place to get the seat done...appointment only...its a fun experience and his attention to detail..such as photograpging the rider in position helps with the finish comfort....

new seat

Pics as soon as you can SVP.

Considering either the Mayer or a Corbin. Need to ride more than 200 miles without a complaint from my lady.

Looks like nice work. Anyone else buy from him yet? Has anyone had their rear passenger seat redone by anybody else? I am looking for someone to redo it, but in the process to make it a slight bit wider and more comfortable for the longer hauls.

I had Rick do a seat a few years ago,, very satisfied...By proffession he is a surgical nurse using several different kinds of foam with his patients and uses that knowledge for his seats....can do what you want...

Here are a few pics of my "Day-Long".
It is the most comfortable seat I have ever had although probably not the best looking, but once your sitting on it, who cares? 8)

I did an ironbutt (1020 miles in 15 hours) and did not even think about my butt other than how comfortable it was. The spring they install to support the sides and take the weight off the tail-bone does wonders and is patented.

I'll repeat what I said in the Corbin seat posting. I have a Rick Mayer seat on my 1150GS and it is superb. When I visited Russel on my return ride from Las Vegas, one their reps told me that their seat was very similar to the Mayer but had the internal springs which allows them to build a wider seat without it breaking down.

This is good news. I had been considering the Corbin but wondering if Mayer did Rocket seats. Looks like I won't be the first. I'll call them.

A friend of mine did a ride in on his 2004 1150GS Advnture. He had just purchased it and was starting out on a western states tour. He said the boys fell asleep within a hundred miles of departing San Diego so he rode directely to Mayer. He was in and out the next day with a new seat and loves it...

Well, they pride themselves on the fact that GoldWingers bring their bikes in to replace the factory seats... Top Quality... I have over 20,000 miles on the "day-long" on my R3... It just gets more comfortable as the miles run on... You do have to go through a "break-in" time which for me was a bit over 1000 miles.
