Can anybody tell me if I can get access to the oil pressure relief valve by only removing the bottom sump plate with the engine in the frame. It's a 2014 2.3 Rocket.
Thanks for any advice.

No you can not the engine has to be split open.

now just incase you were asking about the oil non return/oneway flow valve yes you can pull it with the sump pan off. The yellow arrow below.

Hope this helps.

Thank you very much. I have the bottom sump off and am replacing the non return valve due to oil drain down overnight but couldn't see the relief valve. I was thinking this was the case.
Thanks again warp9.9

No problem bud. You can probably just take you non return valve and clean it. Its just a flat disc and sprin and one snap ring. And make sure the O-ring on the outside is not damaged. I would also clean the two sump screens as they will have swarf in them.

Here is something I don,t understand. I have the bottom sump off of my 2014 rocket with the non return valve removed and I have put oil in the tank, but the oil is not running out of the drilling that the non return valve fits into. I thought it would run straight out immediately.
The oil tank was draining completely within 3 days standing so this makes no sense to me.
Just one other curious thing, when I removed the sump and pulled out the non return valve it seemed to be jammed up and when I pulled it out the spring above it fell out and on replacing the valve into the drilling with the spring on top it now slides freely up and down. Could this valve have been sticking and cause the drain down?
As you can see I don't understand this situation as the drain down was a litre of oil per 24 hours and now with the sump off it appears not to run through from the tank.
Any comments would be welcome please.

I have a new non return valve to fit. Yes and I will clean the screens.
