Oil Filters in Australia

just a question I could not see a bike specific oil and the full synthetic is not JASO MA approved oil, has it got additives, just asking as I would hate to see you damage your clutch.
I used to get an F/syn oil for my Honda, it was an Auss company that imported it's oil from Singapore it was great and half the price but they went out of bussiness, I noticed such an improvement that I have been hooked on Full Syn since, bugger the expense

Hans, I emailed them with your querry (bellow) and there repsonse (in Blue).

Hello,

Hi Tony
Thanks for the email, and reasonable question. The short answer is all of the PM Lubricants range of engine oils are suitable for wet clutch application due to the fact that we do not use friction modifiers in any of our blends. It is the friction modifiers that create slippage and eventual degradation in wet clutches. If you are using the PM 421LA then you can be assured that your engine and clutch are properly protected

This oily question is driving me nuts. I've been speaking to some of the guys where I work (Joe's Motorcycles) and they're less than excited about both Mobil and Castrol for the Rocket. They don't have a problem with it at all and say they are excellent oils; just not necessary in a Rocket. Unanimous recommendation for a pretty stock Rocket ie one that rarely sees north of 6,000 rpm, is Motul 10W40. It's easier to get hold of than the above 2 and not too expensive either.

I have been using Hi Flo oil filters, they are made by K&N filters to the Triumph factory specs.
Use Motul 300V 10/40W.
In fact I use Motul oil and Hi Flo oil filters in all the family bike, the Bonneville, KXF 450, DRZ 400 and 295 RM 250.
It's worth paying the money for the oil, never had a problem.

so what is the recomended retail for V300 10w-40 full syn ? I find it hard to believe that you would have trouble getting Castrol in Canberra when I can get it in a small town like Batemans Bay, the hi reving engines are not the only engines that benefit from Lower friction, better fuel economy and easier starting not to mention a cleaner engine than what semi /part syn oils or mineral oils can provide, I have proven to myself in my ST1100 honda another low rev engine that it gave noticable better economy and easier cold weather starting:)

V300 is in 2 litre bottles at Joe's for $60. I can get Castrol from the BMW dealer but everywhere else needs to order in. Not a problem; just not on the shelves. If it was I'd have it now. One mechanic who rides a beemer said the 5w was too thin. So confusing. Bugger it - I'll just get the Castrol and be done with it. Prefer to take your advice anyway (but don't let it go to your head). ;)

I was told the full synthetic was better for changing gears - alot smoother - I gotta say I tend to agree as I noticed the difference straight up.

Bell Ray brand been around for a long time that's true .. unsure of quality nowadays. Some products that sport old well known names that were once trusted but are now no better than Chainstore brand.

Hanso, 10w/40 Motul 300v has a recommended retail price of $120.00. I did notice smoother gear shifting as soon as put 300v in on the first oil change.
