Oil Filters in Australia

V300 is in 2 litre bottles at Joe's for $60. I can get Castrol from the BMW dealer but everywhere else needs to order in. Not a problem; just not on the shelves. If it was I'd have it now. One mechanic who rides a beemer said the 5w was too thin. So confusing. Bugger it - I'll just get the Castrol and be done with it. Prefer to take your advice anyway (but don't let it go to your head). ;)

Mittzy this salesman is trying to get me to try a new oil he has just put on his shelf .it is an America oil called bell ray he said it's been around for 30 years .have you heard of it
Problaly longer than 30 years, Belray mineral oil was recomended to me for my 68 Ducati 250 single, they wereb right up and regarded as the Top shelve Oil back then
Bell Ray brand been around for a long time that's true .. unsure of quality nowadays. Some products that sport old well known names that were once trusted but are now no better than Chainstore brand.
But as TC said been very quite for some years now and has only really come back into the market in recent times but if it has a full syn JAS MA approved oil it might be worth a try, is it pricey as I said the Castrol is very reasonable price at any Castrol dealer even if they have to order it in. Our local real bike shop closing down was actually a windfall as the local AutoPro shop started stocking things like Bike batterys and Oils and because he has a higher turnover doesn't overcharge like the bike shop (he used to winge that peope were buying their parts -batterys etc in Canberra) used to, I wonder why

The belray oil worked out at about $10 cheaper over all for 6 liters .thanks for the advice .
not doubting you but just double check it is a full syn not just a part with Esthers in it, I am not saying your dealer would lie to you (is e trying to sell the EXS or EXP) but I had a dealer try to lie about and tell me an oil was full syn I bought it (Sorry cant remember the brand but was so called top shelve oil brand sponsors KTM off road Racing teams) I read every inch of the bottle and nowhere did it say it was full or or semi syn so I jumped on the Web and went to the Website sure enought it wasn't so I took the unopened bottle back to him and asked for a refund which he was relucant to do till I threaten to take him to fair trading, he changed his tune and said "I thought that would be better cos it cheaper then the full Syn and it's only a Rocket" So I told him in no uncertain term how far he could shove his bussines up his Lying Arse. as he learnt when someone asks full something don't Bull**** to them as he has lost any chance of ever selling me or any of my mates whom I have told another thing from his shop

There is no way I'm changing from motul fully synthetic .i have used this oil from day one and never had a problem .i am not interested in saving a few dollars where my motor and gearbox are concerned .
