Oil change

Oil level on a dry sump motor is not that critical. If it is on the stick it is good. A little under or over won't matter one bit, but I guess it is something people need to worry about for some reason.

AMEN! I can't say enough how much I agree with this statement.

I know there are articles that talk about how one filter, filters better than another. That may be true, but the reality of the situation is I use Triumph filters, change my oil every 5,000 mile and the oil still comes out pretty darn clean. Heck.....I have all I can do to read it on the dipstick it's so clean after 5k miles. Just saying.

Mobil 1 oil filter! Change oil twice a year. 10/40 in the fall and 20/50 in the spring. Oil and filter is the cheapest and most effective thing you can do to prolong the life of your engine!!

Then you can:
Change the bevel box oil!
Clean and re grease shaft drive wheel side gear.
Grease the drive shaft spline!
Balance the throttle bodies!
Disassemble the brakes, clean and grease!
Flush brake fluid!
And 70 other things under the maintance schedule.

Like I said oil change is easiest!!

I changed the oil at half time, on my Thunderbird Storm and it was black...that was at 3,000 miles.
The R3X's half time is 5,000, which is why I am pondering...

I know some people ignore it and just ride, but for me....it's all about routine maintenance so I can enjoy the ride.
