Normal Deceleration Popping?

Hey Guys. Just wanted to find out if this sounds alright. My 2012 Roadster is 100% bone stock, not a single thing has been added or removed from it. This is my first non V-Twin motorcycle. On my previous bike I had a TRE and a FI2000R and I got amazing fuel performance out of it, super smooth.

I just notice that when I am engine breaking on the roadster, from 3000 to 1500 rpm or so I can hear some decel popping but its very quiet, it kind of sounds like this if you imagine "Vroooo ooo ooo ooo ooo ooo ooo ooommmmmmm" with evenly spaced gaps if that makes sense.. Since I dont have a fuel controller can I assume that this is a condition happening because of running lean?

I don't think anything is wrong with the bike but just wanted to make sure that sounds normal... I also notice that if I am coming to a stop from a fast pace to a quick stop, the RPM's drop down to around 500-600rpm and sound like its a little out of breath but if you leave it it just gradually gets back up to 850rpm and idles smoothly. It hasn't stalled at all on me but again, just wondering if thats how other peoples bikes are. I have 1500kms on the bike in total.

Other then that, it runs supremely smooth while accelerating and cruising, no popping or uneven operation.

They all decel pop... guys with aftermarket pipes tune them up to get rid of it...

That's what I was wondering. It's just that I've noticed it for the first time as I start riding more aggressively, I can hear the popping as I engine break and wondering if that's normal.. which it sounds like it is, so I wont worry about it too much.

exactly, the decel popping is standard on all R3 from the factory change the map for a no decelpop tune from hanso and that will take care of the vrooom vrroom pop pop when engine breaking

Interesting, I'd be curious to know what was changed in the map! But if its normal, I am not going to bother making changes right now.. Im still in the learning phase of getting used to the rocket. One day I do intend on unrestricting the 1-3 gears but until then I'm just going to enjoy the way it is right now! I am quite pleased so far with the bike's performance. I commute with it almost every day I can and it handles great in traffic so far, although it does get a little warm doing the stop and go thing all the way to the office lol

Decel pop can be stopped by adding a bit of fuel to the zare throttle column of the L tables, it is more noticeable on lean tunes, richer tunes will sometime get away with out it and also make the bike run cooler

I had decel popping as well on the stock tune, when I uploaded the R3T redistricting tune it pretty much cured it of loud decel popping, just sort of burgled a but when I downshift,sounds good to me, before it was flatout backfiring.

The one thing I got the dealer to do before I picked up the bike was to install TOR pipes and remap to the latest Triumph tune. I never did find out if they put the 2012 or 2014 tune in place. When I get handy with Tune ECU I'll find out. My ride also pops on decel, a bit more than I'd care to hear. With my America, simply rejetting the carbs and removing the TPS sensor eliminated the popping completely. With the America, disconnecting the TPS caused the ECM to default to a map that prevented the dreaded pop. Many guys disconnected them.

I haven't pulled the plugs to see if she is running lean but my gut feel is yes. Goes like hell though. 1100 kms on her and no issues so far. First oil, filter change done. Still smiling!

Sorry to be an idiot, but what is the zare throttle column. I have the decel pop and would love to get rid of it for good.
