@LAS VEGAS DAVE, this conversation has been had with IFT before. As far as he is concerned the real world is 1/4 mile long and lasts a few seconds. It appears that he cannot comprehend that some of us want the engine to go slower so as to increase comfort, fuel economy, and decrease engine wear. The RIII would tour quite comfortably at 80mph with the engine turning over at around 2200 - 2400rpm. It will probably not happen though.
later on when I got into the bigger conventional diesels(Macks) and doing long hauls I kept the induction (twin snorkels) and exhaust stack noise down to a reasonable level , the same with motorcycles a loud Harley is a PITA to cruise at 130Kph for long periods and even worse to follow, I have followed noisy Rockets at highway speed and they sound like they are reving more than my relatively quiet Tors and Crossover equipped one
