No worries, man. After you've been here a few years you'll see the same questions asked over and over by the new guys (oil, tires, etc). There's tons of threads on them, but when you're new that doesn't mean you know how to find them. And we were all new at some point

How is the lifespan of the Avon. I find d stock the handling of the r3r is really good but have read that the rear tire make is more challenging than it needs to be. Sounds like the Avon helps this .... but is there a compromise?

Sadly true, the G701 is "H" rated (130 mph) compared to the Max's "Z" now noted as "V" (149 mph) for speed; however, 130 mph ain't bad.
The 72 (782 pounds) versus the 86 (1168 pounds) load ratings are moot IMHO.
