I have been wearing my Red Wing boots (10 inch tall) with custom side zipper for 12 years.
I want to try a pair of actual motorcycle designed boots for the first time.
I've done a lot of research and am now zeroing in on Daytona boots.
Either the Daytona Road Star GTX (11.4 inches) or the Daytona Arrow Sport GTX (8.6 inch tall). I'm feeling the 11.4 inch height of the Road Star is too tall as I prefer pants over boots.

I would be interested in your comments or experiences with these Daytona boots???

My experience over the last few decades riding dirt and street. If you go with purpose built motorcycle boots, prepare to buy 2 pairs. Especially in your riding climate.
1 pair of waterproof/cooler weather and 1 pair of vented/warm weather. I've never been happy buying a boot that I tried to use year round

I've been enjoying these.....

These are what I wear (Very Comfy Summer and Winter) they have zipper on the inside hence are not water proof but I wear my jeans over the top and in wet weather the Wets all but cover the zip, I use Dubbins on the leather so keeps the Leather water proof and in good condition, I wore them when I was in the States, not sure if they are available in the States, here's a online seller Johnny Reb Rogue Zip Up Motorcycle Boot

I got Red Wing works boots that I wear at work and riding, and a pair of Bates waterproof for riding should there be risk of needing them. Also they are nice in cooler weather. The motorcycle specific boots seem to offer way too many compromises, and most would not be worn enough for proper break in. More is the fact I just can't find a style that pleases me.

Motorcyclegear.com has a great selection of different brands and excellent write-up on features, quality and 'fit'

You would probably want to look in the Sport -Street - Touring or the Waterproof Sport - Street - Touring sections

I like the look of those AlpineStars Ridge Air (or 'Ridge Waterproof' version but I don't typically ride in rain :D)

The Sidi Canyon GoreTex look amazing & get great review - $350 tho
