Sorry to see that. When I saw the first picture of this thing called RamAir the thought that popped in my mind is how "cheesy" it looked. Now after seeing the problems that has arose I don't see how the manufacture is still in business.

Well - I suggest you visit them and see.

The R3 thing is a tiny tiny tiny part of what they do. We're a tiny turnover and minimal profit group.

Frankly if I were them I'd have turned the project down. ITG filters did just that - said it was IMPOSSIBLE TO BUILD.

But they're youngish aggressive and willing to take risks. If you've never ****ed up in R&D - then you're unique and should be earning millions a day somewhere.
Pretty much my entire free time is speant in R&D - And like Thomas Edison - I have discovered 1000's of ways not to do things.

Let's be clear - WE (that is Colin with some pushing from me) designed it. They simply took his design. IF YOU CAN DO BETTER - I'm all for it.
I certainly do not have Colin's 3D skills. So if it looks cheesy - your beef is with us - Not RAMAIR.

Ages ago K&N did a special filter for Guzzis - they had so many issues - they simply pulled them as they were too much hassle.

The Stage 2 Ram-air will be 3D modelled from scratch by them. They used 3D measuring equipment Colin and I did not have - we did it by eye and knowing what 3*K&N's looked like.

Your right there as the air filter on that pod is all dented in from the bear claw so that makes sense.
Which pot split btw?

I wonder if Wrecka may have hit it on the head to some extent.
I use an OZ CLAW not an original bear claw - ime this may have slightly LESS clearance on the rear pot - but being foam lined maybe it's part of keeping things in place.
Also my Series 1 was THE prototype and the shape was marginally different as it was hand cut.
Thought about cable ties last night - great minds.........

With an Oz claw - you'll quickly find the top surface COVERED in dead bugs.

Well, the failures are still a minority. There are a bunch of people who have ridden with these for a long time and had no issues. I guess I'll get to see how mine does over the next month or so.

I have had the new improved ramair kit for a while and use the bike most days and have had no problems at all.

Still running my original Ramair that split with the stock Triumph rubbers modified to fit. Still doing what I should do. Have my replacement Ramair still in the box, won't be puting it on like it is, will be chasing up another set of stock rubbers to improve it.
