Faulty ignition switch could cause that to happen.

I dont think the switch is the problem it's the amps going through it. If you use the accessory plugs that current is going through the switch as well, lucky it blows there and not cook the loom.

The kill switch circut goes through the ignition and the sidestand switch doesn't.
