I bought a set of Motolights to put on my R3T. I followed the instructions (fairly easy) but nothing works. I replaced the inline fuse, no change. I connected the switch power lead to the brakes, then the running light, then the air horn. Still nothing. Checked all the connections, no luck there either.
I'm missing something perhaps.....

Got the multimeter and checked continuity on everything.... no luck.
Lights should be working.

Any suggestions ? I'm willing to call Motolights, but it's hard to do that from work.

Thought of that. The instructions said to connect to the neg pole on the battery OR a known good ground. This is a puzzle. I can usually figure these things out.

Try bypassing everything. Just take the two leads and put the positive lead onto the positive terminal of the battery itself and then put the negative lead onto the negative terminal of the battery.

If that doesn't work, then you've got bum lights. If that does work, then start tracing the problem back from there.

Does your setup have a relay between the switch and the lights? If so you may have found the relay isn't switching with the available power (usually takes less than one amp) from the control switch you are using. My horn relay is powered from the horn button, but the power to the horns comes from the battery terminals direct. Try hooking the lights directly to the battery as Geek_Law suggested then touch the leads from the relay to the battery and see if they come on. If they do get a different relay. Good Luck.

I fixed my lights. Apparently I needed a different 12v switched circuit to tap into than the 3 I tried before.

All is good.

Now I got them aimed, mostly.

Will wait and see on the ride to work in the morning.......
