Maxing out the Excedra

I've never had a tyre on my Rocket worn that low - not so much because I think it's wrong, but because I'm usually itching to get a new one on there.

Well, if safety is right......then it is definitely wrong! Out of the ten rear tires I have put on the Rocket that is only the second one I have worn to the bone, the first was my first tire which was near the wear bars when I started on a long trip and I didn't want to change out the tire until I got home. Definitely stupid but I do stupid stuff from time to time. The weird thing is I would never run a tire on my car to the bone like that, and there are four instead of two. Scot in Exile is right, f**k that!

The reason it went that far is I was trying to make it last to 100k miles. I kept a careful eye on it and as soon as I saw "bone" I grounded it. But that happens fast though, it can go from just balding to bone in just a few miles.

I think I had 12000 miles on that Excedra.

That clipboard looks like it would stop a bullet. P.S When I was a young apprentice butcher I was known to walk around the shop with a clipboard and a pen doing nothing in particular but LOOKING like I was doing something and basically left to my own devices, especially on Wednesdays which was sausage making day - I hated making f#$king sausages!!!!!!

Nothing like a pen and a clipboard to make people think you are hard at work....;)

I just switched to a Bridgestone in the fall. The Metz I took off looked brand new compared top that. Crazy!

Geez, talk about stretching a dollar...@Ugarte & 1olbull, So how many miles did both you squeeze outta those tires?

Twas put on new in St Louis, Il made it home to Tacoma, WA then to Sturgis and changed out in Missoula, MT.
So, without hunting down my records, I'd say 6000 miles.
