Had a random thought today. I was associated with another owners group that got together periodically and was a pretty tight group of folks that were really into old Chevy pickup trucks. The website forum we all used to swap lies and information on had a map where you could "pin" your location. Came in pretty handy when planning events, etc. Any chance there is something similar on this website that I haven't found yet? Or has this idea been discussed and discarded?

I know we played with something like that, but it's been a few years ago.. ( My Rocket will be 9 years old this year! ) I can't remeber what site was being used though. Most of us have our location in our handle.. so for instance, I know you're only 3.5 hrs or so from me, so I don't think we used it much once we had our location pinned..

A map and location thingie was used on the dot.com site for years, but hardly any bugger ever looked at it, so it has been quietly abandoned.

Quite a bit of work in maintaining it, every time a new member signs up, someone has to update the info. Can keep you busy.

Unless there's a way for the board itself to automatically do it, it's prolly a lost cause.

It is possible, but not on the current platform. I've come up with a way to accomplish it on the new Triumph site:

Member Map

Everyone can easily update their own info and associations, the site app takes care of the rest.

Cool. Put that on this site.

Wish I could, but the integration isn't actively developed for the particular forum software this site is currently running on. Triumph Motorcycle Forums is still in development, but it runs on something completely different.

No worries. It was just a random thought and since it didn't garner but a few posts I think its safe to assume most folks on here can do without it

Are you sure it will be 9? I could have sworn the first US bikes started with 2005 model?
