Lost the downshifting

I have my tires installed at the honda shop down the street, I only make the trip to the dealer when it's Triumph specific.

Wish I'd done that in this case, to be sure. Of course the only reason to take it to a Triumph dealer when it's seemingly unrelated to the brand is that there's at least a chance the trained eye of a Triumph mechanic will spot something related that I, the customer, haven't noticed yet. For eg., in looking thru some of the links this site provides, I found the RECALL & TECH UPDATE VIN ENQUIRY URL and so entered my VIN there. The result I got was:
"There ARE outstanding service bulletins or recalls on your bike.
Please contact your nearest dealer WITHOUT DELAY to have your bike upgraded or modified at no cost to you."
Now, I'll grant you that I should've known about this before making such a trip, and checked it myself, but the expectation I no longer have was that a Triumph dealer would as a simple matter of course verify something so fundamental as that. It's good I have to haul the bike all the way back down there for this clutch failure anyway, so it won't be a totally wasted trip.
Maybe on my next tire change, assuming I get that far, I'll check out the local Honda dealer's showroom while I'm waiting.

hard upshifting

Hey GREENBARON, what ended up being the problem? My 05 started shifting hard and I ended up putting an external spring on the shifter arm. I looked at the service manual
And from what I can tell mine has either a weak or broken shifter return spring. I'm
leaving the external spring on for now because it shifts fine. It looks like to replace the
spring means dropping the motor. Anyone else had this problem? Thanks, Road Dawg

mine's been in the shop for upgrade since 6/5. Unfortunately you're right about the extent of the work. It's actually removing the bike from the motor, not the other way around....

Good luck. I too am curious whatever happened with the original poster's problem and fix....he might have just sold it if it was all out of pocket.

shifting problem

For now I'm leaving mine alone and try to come up with a good permanent external fix
before I pull the frame off the motor. I can't afford to pay dealer prices and won't I'll live with it for now. It just shifts like an old Harley. I'd also like to know the outcome
with GREENBARONS rocket' I own a couple of HD's and ride the Rocket by choice.
