Lifter noise -- not good!

Not a nice sound!!! New Roadster has 900 miles on, ran great Sat. and this morning coming to work, immediate noise sounds like a lifter tapping, changes with eng. RPM's. Came on quickly obviously. Dealer is closed today. Any ideas gang? Any chance of damage to keep riding it (home is 30 miles, dealer is 40 from home).

Sorry guys, it was a cut spark plug wire arcing against the engine!!!! Better than an internal thing right. Thanks anyway.

Yeah, I'd take a cut spark plug wire every time over an internal engine problem.

I never, repeat, NEVER get that lucky ! If it were me it would be a dropped valve or something ! Glad it's all better.

It looks worse than it is. I nearly gave up when I looked under the tank ,but once you pull the harness out of the way and remove the coils ,its easy
