i know that there was a case of the uni's going up in flames. but they fit without any messing aroudn correct? i am on the site a lot but i have not followed this stuff to close because i have neer had the real interest in it. now i do and i am curious if anyone can make it a little more clear. i did a lot of searching but still not sure which works/fits better. thanks

Unis fit very easy , no mods needed to bearclaw .
Been running mine 12months or so , induction noise is sweet . 8)

Do not know about k and n filters

There have been some incidents where the Unis lit up-at least one right here. I will say that I believe it to be a real concern, simply b/c I have had more than one backfire, and under some idle/start condition s with just one filter off I noticed a heavy gas smell and vapor.

It is this combined with a spark that can light the Uni's up.

And as far as performance goes, there is no difference despite what the Uni crowd has hailed. This has been proven.

I have had uni's on a while now
like performance & induction noise (quite loud)
As I have cut a hole in chrome cover for cool air
they are on show fine when clean, but they get seriously
dirty quickly.Which means removing washing & reoiling, not a big deal
but just something I would not need to do to K&N's.
Always used kn before so am ditching the uni's
I would appreciate any pic's of KN's installed with ref numbers
to help me decide which to go with, bearing in mind
I have cut cover so filters are on show
Do any have chrome tops?
My bike is in need of more bling :D

I chose K & Ns because of the flaming unis incident reported on this forum. Imagine the inevitable result of a fire under your gas tank. Now imagine that gasoline fire aimed directly at your ******.

OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

It was only one reported occasion , I would be worried if it had been more than that , but will not worry with a one off :?

Now thats a handsome setup, Busa.

What brand and model of filters are those? Are those angled tops functional to allow air in through the top and if so, how is the air filtered as it passes through them?
