Just fitted the small under-claw K&N pods. Got hold of a bearclaw with 3 holes cut-out of it , guess to allow some air in .. anyway. The induction noise is annoying the f#ck out me and i'm thinking about buying pre-filters in an attempt to lessen the sucking noise. Know all the " the sound of horsepower being made" lines but i'd rather not hear it  anyone know if pre-filters will lessen the sucking sound ... thanks in advance.

Not by a lot. Maybe putting an uncut claw back on would do better. Have to say I don't mind it - not because i like the noise but I dont really notice it so much (any more).

I was surprised by how much the noise increased. Expected some but not that much. Refitted the bearclaw and it cuts it down to what I expected.

Don't expect the pre-filters to do much. I fitted a set to deal with the blowing dust we get during our summer here. Didn't notice much of a difference in the sucking sound, if any.

Ear plugs??

gday tc, a few people that have ridden mine have complained about the noisy intake and as far as i know not much i can do. if you refit your bear claw i have seen a bike that the fella had lined the inside of his shield with that aluminium heat and sound shield.

it was definitely quieter than mine when i was running the smaller pods that most run and the bear claw. the insulation works. only issue is if you go the larger pods like mine the only option is ear plugs as far as i have found.

I hated the cricket chirping. Was going to go back to stock intake. Then I lined the inside of the claw (uncut) with some 1/4" sticky rubber matting I got from a guy at work. Barley hear the crickets now.

Don't have the whistling sound like on Donny's bike with the larger exposed K&N's . Funny thing is Ponters it didn't really annoy me riding your bike , maybe it was the adrenalin rushing :D actually your set-up made me think of the pre-filters. I've got a spare uncut claw , might give that a whirl.. thanks fellas saved me a few bucks on pre-filters ;)

TC I have some sound deadening tar matting if you want some. Its self adheisive and is the stuff that is used in cars and trucks, Deadens any noise. I will give you a sheet and the shhets are about the size of the bearclaw. Just leave the sheet and claw in the sun so it gets hot so you can mould it to the inside of the claw. You have my number.

Thanks Mittzy , i reckon the three holes could be the main source of the noise. Will try the un-holy bearclaw and see how i go . Appreciate the offer mate.

Tom if you decide to not use the Holy Claw I would be happy to take her off your hands for Gracie. After I get the her new Kamelon paint done I am thinking of Stage 1 kit to pep her up a bit. I of course have pay pal and have no problem paying you ahead of time to make things go smoother.
