That there be my jig I knocked up in the shed one rainy afternoon from a bit of scrap steel I had lying around, works better than it looks
 
This jig looks pretty cool. I wish I had seen this before I outlayed for full motorcycle lift. That said ..... motorycle lifts are awesome so no regrets there.

Installed a rear only JBQ on my 2007 Classic. Might look pricey for what it is but... The guy had to design it, build it, stock it, market it, insure it. He has to make a living.
BTW it works well, looks good, there are no clearance issues and the hardware which is included is high quality SS. Call Bob and he will make sure you buy the correct plate for your model year Rocket. I have an equivalent product on the Valkyrie but it is not the same quality. If her made one for the Valkie I would buy it.

Now... I have an old jack which is very unstable. Upgrading. What should I get. Any suggestions?
 
Rick, the R3 bracket was originally designed on an '05 model. Unfortunately (for JBQ) things soon changed. The rear part had changed by 2009 and the front NLT 2007. So to answer your question, it depends on your model year, and possibly if you have the front dresser bars.
The rear bracket will lift the rear alone or the front & rear, depending on the positioning of your two rail jack, so depending on your requirements, this may be your best option. (one bracket) The front bracket will lift the front alone. (second bracket)
Sorry if this is a tad confusing, but it'd be best if you called me with your particular needs, and I can get you set up properly. I still do not have exact details (VIN breaks) that allow me to state in print which exact setup you need, but be assured, you will not be stuck with a setup that isn't right for your bike.

Sorry I forgot twas you, Ken!
Me thinks your rig, with some slight mods, would be the way to go!
It is easily attached to the existing frame holes (same as used by the Flipmeister).
It covers both sides of a jack stands that most all of us use.
It easily removes and is not always carried on the bike.
One question:
Are the all the oil drain bolts accessible???
 

No worries I was looking at the photo for a while before I realised it was mine, access OK to the 3 drain plugs Bull, I just clip the jig on with the lynch pins with the bike on the side stand then slide the lift under the bike and stand the bike up give the lift a couple of pumps and up she goes ,the bike balances on the two lugs with no weight on the sump and you can raise either wheel ,cheap as chips and does the job , my shed is full of "homemade" gadgets like this, I like to tinker

Start fabbing them in aluminum and make some AUD!

I put one on my 07 Classic and it fit outside my footboard rails. Doesn't interfere with anything on mine.
 
'05 Rockets up on the bench, rear end out to do the first ever grease of the drive and new rear tyre (dark side of course - the old one has crossed Australia twice), and waiting for Viking Header, saw this and thought s@#$, I can make one but then .... snowing, fire in the shed still only brings the temp to freezing .... found FREE POSTAGE!!!, easier to type "pay Now" in front of the fire than lose more skin off numb fingers!

Daaam... Longrider, you make the Marlboro man look like a *****cat. There is an NRA add here in the US by Charlie Daniels. You would fit right in.
