Does anyone else get a "pop" from under the saddle when blibbing a rev to change down? My bike seems to heve enjoyed doing it ever since I put the cat bypass on.

Any ideas?

Forgot to mention, had the bike remapped and serviced only a couple of hundred miles ago.

What model? what air intake? sometimes a backfire thru the throttle bodies can occur, & on the original air snorkle you might hear that under the seat.

Sure it's not popping in the bypass you hear?

From what local dealers here tell me ALL Triumphs seem prone to spit back. But I'd worry about enough pop audible through the filter box snorkels. There are two plenums and rubber parts not to mention a paper filter. Takes a lot of intake backwash to pop through that.

Thank you for your replies, the bike is a 2009 rocket III standard fuel system and exhaust system was checked for leaks during service and all OK.

It does seem a bit of an effort to get the pop back through the airbox but it's definately there and not the bypass, if it were the bypass I would be definately worried as it tries to lift the seat.

Dirtydave, did it get worse or just continue? Did it break ay parts of the carburation system?

check all the hose clamps that hold the throttle bodies on and the ones on top thru all the air ducting. Not that every tech is lazy but they are human and can miss something.

Thanks again for the replies, think I'll call the dealer and ask them to take a look, I'll just make a pig's ear out of it.

My bike used to spit back through the intakes once in a while but it was more of a bang and you could feel it through your spine then white smoke drifted up from under the saddle. Scary the first couple of times but entertaining now. Saying that, it has not done it since I swapped the rotten silencers with new ones.
