'tis the season, to get raped by the insurance companies again.

I realize this is for a limited audience but, I'm wondering who the Ontario captains use for insurance. I just got my renewal in the mail and it's gone up 30% over last year! My is with TD by the way

I'm with state Farm and I pay $1000 a year for full coverage for my rocket and the same price for my st1300 as well.

With TD I went from $778 to $1,013 in one year. I just got a quote from State Farm. Ready??? $2398!!!! How is that possible?

Yes that'll help for sure, but I have 3 cars and my house with them (State Farm) and nothing else with TD

Thanks

I just called TD and was told there has been a large increase in 2016. Bikes were affected more than anything else. :(

I'd be curious to see what they tell you

Just spoke with my agent, my renewals are not up until the end of the year (october and November) But when I asked her about the spikes she said that there was some kind of glitch in the sytem that affected some motorcycle policies. She said that there may be rate increases, but they are usually capped at a maximum amount, and these 60-80% hikes are not normal.. they are contacting people to let them know and they are fixing the errors. Thats what my agent told me. For now, I am safe until the end of this riding season.

First year I bought the bike, TD had the best rate, then they wanted to jack it big time after the first year. My wife and I were at the bike show, saw Riders Plus, they specialize in bikes, beat TD out by $1000, bundled my wifes insurance up with them, was $450 cheaper for hers.

No mention of any errors during my conversation. Good you have until October at least. I'll start shopping. I did an on-line quote with Riders Plus ( I was with them 3 years ago until they jacked my rate). They were $1,1100
