Hi,

My indicator lights and back tail light are gone. When I checked in, I found the fuse number 15 in the fusebox was gone. I changed it and indicator and tail lights start working. But after I rode it again, I find the fuse was gone again, I replaced it again and after a small ride it was again gone. I changed 3 fuses number 15s and all of them are gone. I do not know if there is any short circuit in the assembly or somewhere. Anyone had this issue or know where exactly to check for the short-circuit.

Hello mate, when you say fuse No 15, i assume you mean a 15amp fuse.
I can only see 10 fuses on the main wiring diagram.
Here is a copy of the 2004 lighting diagram and key.
Hope this helps.

Ironically I just watched two of the F.A.S.T. riders dope out a problem on a Bonneville America just like you describe. It was the wiring loom, it had contacted the rear tire and rubbed off enough insulation to let it short out.

Thanks Scotty for the diagram. Somehow I feel that there are few more fuses may be the circuit is different for 2006 Rocket classic?

Yeah even I suspect the same. May be I need to scan the complete wiring?

might want to check under the plastic covers near the head set. the gussets have bracing plates where the screws attach. these little buggers are sharp enough to abrade the insulation due to turning and straightning the bars. the connectors are where to look first.......

greg

you mean the chrome cover behind the head lights/? Will check that tonight.

no,
the plastic side panels just to the front of the gas tank. there is one to each side. look there and under the tank near the upper frame rails where the harness sits near the frame gussets. look closely at the harness connectors that sit by the screw bosses. they are very close to sharp edges.

Ok, Thanks!
