Part arrived and bike is ready. All looked good, but the dealer stated the steering head bearing were loose.
$65 total cost for ignition replacement (warranty) and the steering head issue.
I'm pretty PO'd to report that Triumph gave me another key, specifically for the ignition.
If I didn't need the bike right away, I would have left it there.
I told the dealer that I'll be contacting Triumph and demanding that they re-key my saddlebags, too. That should have been done at the time of the ignition repair.
I mean, c'mon!
I am really souring on Triumph and would not buy or recommend the brand to others at this point.
First, Triumph refuses to step up and recall this item that has proven to be a continuing issue with their ignitions.
Second, when thwey do the repairs, they do just enough to get by, leaving riders with a half-assed job.
I'm frustrated right now. Sure, I can have a local locksmith do the re-keying work, but why should I have to?
Dang! This would NOT happen with a Japanese bike.
