Idling: non electronic causes

stalling

flyingdoc--no gaskets----just o-rings . but you got me thinking. see 9 page post on stalling. you may be right.--non-electronic.---temp.based/aluminum seal deal.--???? hi -income owners--going from 100 + degrees to air-cooled garage!!!--boom! ---maybe the smart guys will figure it out.--john

stall

the bearclaw is capturing heat!!!!!!---as i've said all along!!!----from the head and radiator !!! i would imagine it's affecting # 1--closest to radiator.--then affecting ecu----etc. g-man and triple trouble will figure it out eventually!!!----we'll see.---john

Cant be bearclaw as mine does it from start up , and in the UK do not get high temps like you in the US .

stall

9 pages of stall info.---zilch! if anybody is installing new chrome oil cooler like g-man did---and throttle bodies have to come off.--check transition piece--index to see if it is still flat across entire piece.--where o-ring fits. ------------------mine is out --will check when i get back--2-3 weeks. -john

The thing is with this fault is that for many of us it is speculative,as we are basing our judgements on posted symptoms without a troublesome bike to apply the theories to .There is also the possibility of more than one common cause (not the mention the seemingly random ones... e.g. my coolant temp sensor terminals were not both locked in correctly ,finally causing it to run rugged ,not a difficult one to trace ).Based on what I have read and seen I think for the most part that the fault is in the ecu ,but my bike is ok at present so there is not much to follow. The point is either way ,it is TRIUMPH that need to sort this crap out,and our energies should focus on getting them to do so.

.... just with regard to the temp sensor terminals ,that happened well over year ago and whilst it ran fine since,it did suffer idle problems later on(i.e. more than one fault ) :!:
