Thats good news, but probably to much hassle for Expat's to bring anything fun... I am gonna bring my bows and hoping to get in on some hunting.. I am looking at neighborhoods in Perth and waiting on their final offer. I hope bringing the bike won't be a big hassle but I am sure it won't be cheap? The fishing looks killer. How is the beer?

Don't worry about the beer mate get some Bundy into ya, make your balls grow all hairy like:D:D:D

Welcome and if the beers to pricey do like a lot us do Brew your own, piece of piss to make ya own :D:bch:

Sounds good

I used to brew allot of beer when I was working stateside, thats a great idea. I still have all the old flippy's as we used call the bottles with the built in stoppers.
My frustration hmm let me explain... sort of by saying I am just happy to be away from Nigeria, there was a strike at the end and we were restricted to rooms, chow or bush bar. It was rainy season my room was mold and mildew filled, the food literally went to crap with maggots in it...I got and upper respiratory infection that I have only been well from, for a couple of weeks, I literally thought it was just gonna hurt every time I took a breath from then on? Chevron took over my position in the last several months I was there, but wanted to keep me another year to manage the data base all though I would be powerless to stop them from rearranging everything I worked for the 29 months to set up..and I was desperate to leave and frustrated with them, I got bitter and angry.... hahahaha so I took a job for them in the Gulf?
I am looking forward to riding the Rocket making some friends that have a passion for these beasts whether I move to Perth or stay in Friendswood. Sadly many of the guys I rode with have disbanded or dis-biked do to hard times, financial issues and job changes... I am happy to still be working and blessed to have some time to ride. I am excited about moving to Australia, if that’s in the cards and looking forward to whatever happens.

If I drink Bundy will that make me a Yobbo? I am a big rum fan I really like Cacique with a little coke. Bundy sounds grand.
But I am hoping to get into some Australian wines as well. I went to Spain on vacation and really got into enjoying wines and relaxing, in America the wine places are to snobby for me man... I am a redneck.
More importantly if we pull the trigger....
I really hope to get into some archery and fishing as well as some of your great walking trails.

Hey Ex:
Welcome back to the site. Good luck on the job offer in Oz. Never heard of a job that included a wife and a dog, but we know the Aussies do things a bit differently from the way it is done in Texas, USA.

We trudge on.

If you've gota take on a nagging wife and a yapping dog just to get the job it's no wonder they've gota recruit from the other side of the world ;) .... strewth !!!

no no no

I get to take my wife, my kids and my dog, all of which I greatly missed while in Nigeria.... They are not offering new ones, I am very happy with mine. I did some of the ground breaking work on preservation procedures with the EGTL project and many of the same folks have moved on to the Gorgon project and working in fab yards in China, South Korea, indonesia and Perth so I have and oppurtunity to assist them with long term storage and preservation of the equipment for the pipe line and Gas Plant on the islands. It may last 2-4 years atleast until the next one... I am excited to work with all workers we hired in Australia ( I have worked with very few Australians overseas they are as rare as Irish so they must not like to leave paradise?) and I am also hoping some of my Scottish mates from Nigeria show up, whether they are living in Thailand or Inverness..... it's gonna be a fun job.

No crown land to shoot (bow or rifle) here in Perth. You'll have to make buddies with some land. Worst state for hunters in Oz

Well thats a buzz kill, I will have to find a nice cool indoor archery range and a nice pub near by for afterwards, no worries adapt and overcome...
