How to remove the torsional damper bearings..

How did you get the shaft back together..

Just followed the manual, nothing special.

After removing the circlip, collets etc as above..

Clamp damper in vice using wooden blocks, and 35mm deep black/impact socket (hex, not bi-hex) and a large breaker bar to remove nut on splined driveshaft end

Remove that bearing then with a hydraulic press

Old bearing removed... (open bearing but should be sealed for life type)

Use hydraulic press to press new sealed bearing on

Some medium strength threadlocker for putting the nut back on again

Torqued up the 35mm nut to spec in manual

Now that vice holding is no longer needed, on with the (correctly-orientated) bearing at the transmission end of the torsional damper... notice the ~2mm gap between it and the shoulder there

Gap closed then by using hydraulic press to push it home

On with collets

Circlip on then nice and cleanly seated into groove, with orientation correct (sharp edge side out, positioned 180°/opposite to the channel like below)

Then fit to the torsional damper cover, and so forth

Thanks again really helpful photos...Looking at the photo with the 2mm gap between the bearing and shoulder
i should be able to remove the bearing without it flying off..

Looking at your photos when you pressed on the new bearing it stayed there allowing you to fit the clips..

Yes but I had the helical gear tied down tight with cable ties just in case it popped before I got the collets and clip on
