Hello: I tried to find the best forum to put this on and as I am only interested in the R3T, I picked this one. Simply, from my reading and research on this forum I understand the Rockets do not appear to be the perfect machine or seem to have the reliability of a GW or BMW. Therefore as a guy who does a lot of his own wrenching, may I ask how difficult the R3T's are to work on post warranty? Parts availability?

I've had fewer issues with my R3T than with the 5 or 6 BMWs I had previously. That said, its pretty easy to work on. No plastic to remove, tank is easy to raise, and everything is kind of supersized.

Parts can be an issue, but it will depend on your dealer. For the most part I'd say that beyond maintenance parts you'll likely face a wait.

Depends on your dealer for parts. I've never had a problem getting parts in a few days, it depends on how often your dealer orders. If they don't order parts except every 2 weeks on a Monday your wait can be considerable. Most consumable bits and bobs can be had in the after-market in a few days at most.

As far as working on the bike, check out the .com site and download the shop manual from Bishop (it's free). If you can't figure it out from that, best leave it to the dealer's technicians.

You can also ask questions as you go and get more than enough confusing and contradictory advice from the forums......:rolleyes::confused::(:D:cool::kk::sick::kick:

parts are a lot easier to get if you know a dealer in UK that will order for you and ship over.
