Hello, Dave. Welcome to the site from NJ!

I respect and honor your service, but am saddened that it came at such a dear price. That's sympathy, Brother, not pity. From the sounds of it you earned the DI, that pretty partner of yours and all of that great bulldog love!

Go for it, live large and always go forward - never go straight!

Nice words, Phil!
A heartfelt thanks for your service Dave
and welcome to the BEST motor forum anywhere.
BTW - Don't listen to Richard @CanberraR3, your color is just so so - black IS the fastest!

Dave, Welcome from Germany (by way of Mississippi!).
My sincerest gratitude for your (and your wife's) sacrifices!
Yes, the rocket is a wonderful therapy device!

Welcome to the Forum Dave From another of the Aussies on the Forum ,I thank you for sharing your story with us and wish you well , and I am humbled by your courage to carry on with your passion for life and motorcycles

IMO only couple things you can really deep down count on family, friends who have 'been' there and, by family I mean a good dog, and a good ride. there are some that still give all again IMO those that serve deserve way more than than they are getting

Dave, thank you for your service and sacrifice. I agree that those who have served deserve way more than they are getting. You make out much better by having no job and popping out a half dozen kids by different sperm donors. I can somewhat relate from a health standpoint. I'm a two time cancer survivor (4 time I guess if you count two different kinds of skin cancer). Having to deal with pain 24/7 must be draining. I'm in aw of your positive attitude. I truly hope they can get your pain under control. I hope you have many, many pain free days before you begin your journey to Valhalla. Welcome to the sight. We are honored to have you here !

Rocket Scientist,
You hit it on the nail head about "popping out a half dozen kids by different sperm donors" except you forgot to mention the sperm donors are predominantly Mexican nowadays. I lament the loss of the great race that built the castles and cathedrals of Europe, and conquered this vast continent, and most of the world, only to be out bred like rabbits. It is a simple case of demographics. What we won by the blade of a sword and the barrel of a gun, we are literally being ****ed out of.

Sorry about your health problems. They are all unique, and they all suck. In the mist of misery lest we remember the knife is sharpened by the wet stone. And without it we would be but a dull knife.

Semper Fi,
Dave

A humble welcome and thank you. no other words describe your sacrifice for your country.

Thanks guys. I will try to keep up with the pack.

Yeah, it came at a great price. Not many folks still walking around know what it like. It is impossible to explain because how do you explain the effects on the mind of feeling debilitating pain 24/7 365 days a year? A person cannot imagine it, and if they could they certainly would not want to. But in the fire is the secret. Pain teaches you what is important and what is not. Anybody who enjoys this life too much, gets to stay here next time.

The Rocket riding has tremendously therapeutic for me though. It is alot like meditation. When I set my throttle at 3000rpm 80mph it lets my mind roam. Has anybody else had similar experiences being therapeutic?
I definitely agree. The saddle is my home and solace. And you, with your sacrifices for your country as a warrior, have definitely earned your seat in the hall; I just hope you have a good long while before you can fill it.
That is a lovely ride, and a lovely passenger you have there. Hope you both feel the wind in your hair soon. Welcome.

Hi Dave and thanks for your service, good luck with the implants I hope they work so you can enjoy many miles of freedom!! You earned it!!

Hello Dave and welcome from VA. I offer you a hardy Hoo-Yah. BTW, you don't have a sister named Shelly do you?
