I have the bike back, and the overheating warning light still comes on!

I am thinking that it may be that it needs bleeding properly - gonna try and see where that gets me.

yeah with the bike propped up level and bike cold open the Radiator cap and just slowly ease the bleed bolt out till you start to see coolant coming out, tighten it back (up there is no need to remove the bolt completely) top up the radiator at the cap replace the cap and you are done also make sure there is no air in hose to over flow/ catch tank.
