Harley dude talking smack!

Maybe the Vette didn't know they were racing. Maybe the guy driving the Vette was out for a nice leisurely drive.

Obviously for whatever reason, the Vette wasn't full out but the guy with the Mustang wasn't acknowledging it. He was trying to say his car was faster. What a tool.

Talk about talking smack. A guy on the 750 turbo forum just said that he beat a Corvette ZR1 with his bone stock 2003 Mustang Mach 1. I couldn't let that one go. Give me a break.

I had a Mustang Cobra, put a Vortech supercharger on it. I could run with Corvettes until the road got twisty. Sold the Mustang and bought a Corvette. It was fast until my buddy bought a Viper. Sold the Corvette and bought a Viper. At that point I realized I didn't have the bank account to continue the chase.

But, even with my mediocre skills, I never got beat driving the Viper. Massive torque hides a poor launch every time. Might explain the Rocket.

took the day off work to ride.
Me and my buddy an his ole lady ended up at the bar,
(was there ever any doubt)
Anyway this guy on his screaming turkey throws his keys at me and says "
IF ya got the balls, give her a go".
I threw his keys back to him and just turned the crank on the tank,
she cranked up without the keys, DUH....
Anyway, took his screaming turkey for a spin.
pulled back in and he said "what's ya think about those 100 horses"..
I said "not much", she'll do 92 wide open.
He seemed impressed, me, not so much...
Took mine out just to show him what 132 in an 1/8th mile looked like...;)
He paid almost 3 times the price and had about 2/3 the HP.
So he claimed... stickers are cheap though.....

i have an '08 R-3 classic and a 2013 roadglide

the guy who works for at&t or wherever that was that you encountered him, is full of crap. i recently built my 103" harley with s.e. cams, c&c factory ported heads, vance & hines 2 into 1 pro pipe, etc etc, to the tune of over $4500 bucks. that brought my harley from a measley 67 horsepower to 104 and the torque came up from 87 to 114. of course dynoed it before and after the build. my roadglide is a roadglide ultra with lowers and tour pack, all the bells and whistles, and i gotta say, for a Charley Ferguson, it runs really well for a big twin. but the difference is when i get off of my 08 rocket III classic and get on the harley. the harley feels almost like an entry level bike. the rocket indeed feels like i'm straddling a brahma bull in comparison. and both bikes are of similar weight, give or take 30 or 40 lbs. as far as power goes, acceleration factor etc., the Rocket will suck both headlights out of my HD Roadglide. yeah, it's the only hawg with twin headlights. they're both excellent bikes but the harley with the throttle by wire, 6 speed trans, and electronic cruise control, the stereo, and especially the fairing just really works out on the highway. i still feel as though i'm wrestling with my rocket III more than i need to. so yeah, the guy who "thinks" harleys haul ass is a bit dillusional.

I have a couple buddies with Screaming Eagle Harleys and such, they have great respect for the Rocket, LOL. They've never said a bad word about the Beast, 2 of them refused my offer to ride it, saying " I'd be afraid I'd have to buy one".

I have a dear friend that took off at a 4 way stop in the middle of flat Ohio corn country on his Screamin Eagle 110 ci Hardley. He hit third gear running hard when I caught and passed him and to do that he caught me looking the other direction so he had a half to whole second jump on me. Next stop sign he grinned and said "what took you so long" because he knew to get out in front he had to jump me at the start. He is still a dear friend and one helluva Marine and the best barber in Amherst, Ohio (Olde Towne Barber Shop).:):) EVERYONE knows what a Rocket can do unless they have been drinkin beer in some far off land on rainy days while Rockets are still pounding asphalt.

Not to throw fuel on the Harley fire again but I agree...he was disillusion unless he was riding a bike that had well over $50k in it. You can make a big twin go fast if you are willing to pay for it, but why? My ultra limited is for one purpose...taking nice long cruises with the boss on the back and the softail breakout is in the garage because I'm too hard headed to back down from a challenge, but if I was wanting pure speed I wouldn't be riding any of the three bikes in my stable...I would be on a tricked out busa and anyone who could catch me could talk all the smack they wanted. Having said that, the Rocket is definitely my ride of choice...puts a smile on my face every time.
