Hard on wear items

If I only wore out tires and brakes, I'd be soooo happy! I'm on my 3rd set of cases, crank shaft, and connecting rods. Mechanic keeps spouting some BS about the R3s oil system isn't made to do wheelies blah blah blah...

Good Gawd! I can't afford a rear tire much less all that!

Yes as long as I'm moving it's not bad. When I have to stop for a while, I put my foot up on the cruising peg. I don't ride in shorts too often, but I know and accept the risks when I do. Usually I wear jeans, but I've seen how useless they are against blacktop too. Dress whatever way makes you happy, and ride whatever bike you prefer, just enjoy the ride.

I decided to go fill my tank up one night in ordered to be ready to ride hard the next day. Had my shorts on and told myself "You need to go put your pants on.... Naaahhhh it'll be alright.... gas station isn't that far up the road". I made it to the gas station, parked at the pumps, got off bike....and burnt the chit out of my leg!

This ole' boy won't go nowhere on a bike with shorts on........ ever!

Pads seem to last me about 5-7k miles. In music the rests can be as beautiful as the notes. On a motorcycle the braking can be as thrilling as the acceleration. I wouldn't try to conserve pads any more than I try to save gas. I'm in it for the full experience.
    ride it like you stole it !

Rear tyre every season , front tyre every second season . Pads much the same except 2 sets of front to every set of rears !
Last season was a tad under 5000 miles . :sneaky:

The helmet did its job. The polycarbonate shield dented. He cut a concrete post in half, apparently with his head. Maybe 5" in diameter.
Lower part of flip front broke free. Polycarbonate visor dent is where eye socket made contact.

Thanks for sending.
Way less damage than I expected!
I see nothing to the helmet top that would be consistent with his injuries in the photo??? o_O

I ride in shorts and sneakers from time to time. Even in flip-flops when the mood strikes. You can question my sanity, but not my experience or ability. As for experience, I've ridden since I was 5, over 30 of those years were on the road without an accident. As for ability, well like I said 30+ years without crashing. If that's not good enough, you can ask a few members on here that have been ridding with me about my competence behind the handlebars. If that's still not good enough... Wanna Race?

As you darn well know, brother, skill has nothing to do with fashion! :D
God bless America, Land of the Free - but, you also know that shorts, sneakers or thongs for ride gear is NOT wise!!!
;):inlove

I have 20,000klms on my pads and they are still ok. but would like to upgrade to Pretech 6 pot
