Guys,

I want to put bags on my R3 and wondered if you guys had any experience with either Ghost Brackets or EZ Brackets?

Do the bags swing with either or are they solid -- I don't like the swinging look at rest?

Any other choices would be appreciated. I am going to use MUTAZU bags MU or RS bags.

Any thoughts appreciated!!!

thanks

I have the ez brackets with leather bags and a friend has them with hard bags and they work great. We both have several thousand miles with the bags maxed out with no problems.

I have the easy brackets and there is a little "slop" in the bracket to mountings on bike. This causes a rattle if you hit a bump, especially if bags aren't loaded.

I had ezbrackets on my vulcan. The mounting post are similar to excentics and the play can be adjusted so the brackets are solid. I mounted Leather Willie and Max bags and had no swinging of the bags. I also liked the easy on the bike off the bike locking key feature. Very handy when traveling just pop the bags off and take in hotel with you.

Please tell me how to adjust the "slop" out. I called EZ brackets directly and they were of no help. Also nothing in install instructions.

H&B hard bags solid mounts remove with the key love them but only take them off for high speed runs and drag racing.

Here's a shot of them with the mounts with the bags off H&B also

I have MU bags on EZ Brackets and after some 'adjusting' I'm happy with the result.

They are definitely solid, but I had to play with the mounting studs in order to get them to fit tight and still be able to get the bags unlocked in a reasonable fashion.

Keep in mind one thing with the MU bags. You are playing significantly less for these bags than other manufacturers; as a result, they are not the highest quality construction. You will have to check the fasteners as well as use some silicon chaulk to seal the seams. You may have to adjust the locking mechanism so that the doors close tight. Notice I didn't say water tight because of the door orientation they will leak a little water as you're blazing down the highway in a storm.

I used the EZB's and at the bolt mounting points I reenforced the bag on the inside with strips of 'strapping' from Lowe's/Home Depot. I got them in the 'deck fastener' section and hit them with a little paint. You could use larger diameter washers as well.

Mine are still running like a champ.

Just a word of caution. I bought the Mutazus for my last bike (Suzuki Boulevard C90) and was unhappy with the quality, though the price was unbeatable. Sold them without mounting and moved up to the Tsukayus, which were MUCH better. Also looked a little nicer on that bike - at least to my eye.

EZ Brackets

I had Mutazu LN bags on EZ-Brackets. They worked well until a deer decided to run into me. Along with damaging the radiator and brake pedal, the right bag was destroyed. I am now looking for new bags to use with the EZ-Brackets. Was looking at the Saddlemen Teardrop Cruise-N bags. Has anyone mounted these on a Rocket?
