Hey Will, congrats again on that Rocket. It's a big difference form the VTX1300. That's what I had before.
The riser install / cable re-route is easier on the Rocket. I did like you mentioned with the VTX, but on my R3T, I just disconnected one end of the cable and re-routed it behind the tree. 10 minutes.
I love the riser in mine too. But a mech moved my clutch cable without letting me know and it developed a hole in the outer rubber. I went to a local dealer (H-D) and ordered a 3" over Stainless braided cable from Barnett. It is a good investment. I think 2" over stock wil be long enough. I like the look and maneuverability. Cost about double the stock rubber cable at $84

G'day crazyman... I've just purchased the R3 Touring and find (being vertically challenged at 5'4") that I'm hunched forward while riding and really have to reach forward when performing U-Turns. Am therefore considering the risers; or if anyone knows of bars that come back more than the standard.
If anyone can advise on this I'd very much appreciate it before I fork out $$$
