Reading this thread set me to ruminating . . . an always dangerous endeavor.
Some of this stuff seems to be getting somewhat complicated and possibly a tad over planned, IMO.
How about those interested & willing to lead a group day ride, come forth & speak up. Tell us which ride route you would lead and what day.
We have three or four excellent routes proposed so far. If we keep the size to 8 or less, we shall surely need more than one leader for each ride.
I recommend we post the rides and the days at the Monday BBQ and allow interested folks to sign up. Depending on how many, the list is split up into 8 riders or less.
The group leaders will host a riders meet to establish pace, break frequency, food stops and photo ops.
I'll even start:
I have done most of these rides last summer and will lead a group for the Mesa Pass/CO Nat Monument ride on Tuesday. We will meet up Tuesday morning at 8 AM for a rider meet and kicks up at 8:30 AM.
I wish to maintain the speed limit up to +10mph max; no more, no less. I shall not let anyone fall behind and at each turn, if I don't see everybody, I shall stop and wait for them.
If someone is not there within 10 minutes, I shall turn around and come find them. We will run staggered with 2 sec interval to rider ahead and 1 sec to rider adjacent - PLEASE keep up.
I will be using a Bell Sena SMH10 in my helmet and shall give riders my phone number. Photo ops, breaks and food shall be discussed at the rider meet.
If my offer is acceptable, I'll also do the other two rides just posted by Ogre on Wednesday and Thursday as well.
Best Regards,
