I agree with a whole RAA 9 group ride by photo/video opp.
Everyone with a Go Pro can set them up in a location with someone ready to start them all and watch over them. Preferably someone not there as a rider or passenger.

One person with one decent vid cam would do fine...as long as the vid is uploaded to Vimeo &/or YouTube so everyone can get access to it.

The lunch should be determined by length of ride and accommodations of the restaurant.
Some that we have stopped at in the past could not handle a large group in a reasonable amount of time. Some were just overwhelmed and got the orders wrong. I need to add that to the list.
Its always best to call ahead and let them know the number in the group and at least a 3 hour window of arrival.

Sure. That's why I'm asking...If we want a good lunch stop, we need to do some more planning & research in that regard.

I have never seen anyone do the fast food thing.
I believe in supporting a family owned restaurant over any chain.

Sometimes a quick stop at a Sonic drive-in or similar can be an option.

Last year I carried snacks in my bags for those that were really hungry and needed something to tide them over until the lunch break. That really worked out great. Granola bars, cookies, etc.

Everyone should carry their own emergency snacks & plenty of water.

As of now, I think the bike count is somewhere around 48.

We have 4 planned loop rides & 4 days Tues/Wed/Thr/Fri

I suggest 2 groups (a faster ride group & a slower ride group) each loop each day.

If we divided equally, we are looking at groups of about 6 bikes maximum...which is not too big to easily keep track of everyone.

Of course, everyone can do their own thing individually or with whatever group they want to make up on their own. I am just trying to get some pre-planning organization in advance started here.

Some people like to just go with the flow & make last minute choices, which is fine,,,but having a plan of attack is good, especially with a big mixed group.

We can always change plans as needed for weather or numbers or other concerns...

Another idea, for those that like bigger parades...Have a large slow moving group each day for one selected loop.
Tues loop
Wed loop
Thur loop
Fri loop

Big group, big crowd @ gas/photo/lunch stops

If enough bikes are into this kind of ride, then there may only be a handful of riders that want to do the faster-type ride...and they can form one or more smaller groups.

So everyone chime in with their ideas, if ya got em??

Here is one of the rts...you can print this as a front & back..(I will make similar maps for the other rides)

If everyone knows the next planned stop, it can give people the freedom to stop for extra pictures on their own & meet up at the next planned stop.

The group leader can make sure everyone has made it to a set stop before proceeding.

At Gateway, there is a fancy resort & a higher priced restaurant...If we wait until Naturita (the fuel stop) there is a burger joint that has good reviews...

Things are very few & far between on this particular route.

Since we are suggesting Routes, I'd like to offer a suggestion of my own..... Hotel to Horsefly Brewing company, .4 miles approx 53 seconds......

YUP, lunch stops for groups can be challenging. On our Quebec trip we have had at times up to 25 people stop for lunch. It overwhelms many places, then add that we do not speak French and they do not speak English and it is REAL time consuming. And the fact that they are REALLY slow at serving here in Quebec....

This one still needs a finalized lunch spot too...there will be a lot of scenic photo spots but only rest/fuel stops are marked.

This one is a "rider's route" a bit longer than the others.

the more we can organize in advance the better IF we are gonna have large groups together for lunch.
