Great Article on T-Bird

If Triumph would have came with the Thunderbird first, than the Rocket 4 years later I probably would have owned the T-bird and rolled into a Rocket later. I don't think I can go the other way.

I got to ride one this weekend and it is a great bike. I came across this interview with the designer. It's a good read.

2010 Triumph Thunderbird Designer - Motorcycle.com

Come on Brian....give. What a lame statement for you to make with no feedback on what the experience was like. You have been around bikes long enough to make some interesting observations about the test ride you took. GIVE.....S.B...

And yes....I will read the article...but you are not off the hook....

It really is a great bike. Nicely put together and nice finish. I rode a blue and white one with the off road exhaust. Handles very well. I felt like I could get it pretty far over in the corners. Fourth gear pulls really good from 50 to 90 mph. The handlebars are shaped so that the grips are perpendicular with the bike, which is easier on my wrists. The seat is firm like a Corbin. Sixth gear is strickly an overdrive. I really like the clutch and brake levers, they are really beefy. The lasting impression was how it sounded. It has a great rumble that even a HD lover would like.

All being said, it doesn't come close the power of the Rocket, but it is a very fun bike to ride. I would consider owning one.

There was a guy at Baxter's who had bought 3 so far. They have sold 11. I hope this is the bike that can take a bite out of HD's market share, and from the 20 mile test ride I had, I think this is the bike to do it. BTW it gets around 55 mpg.
