Gearbox trouble Help

Just caught this. What a bummer. Had me really concerned until your last post, which sounds very much like a detent spring. That's a bad news/good news situation - it could be a LOT worse. Fingers crossed mate.

Two detent springs in 56,000ks hmmmm they certainly dont last long
 
I can select the gears guys but i have to keep my toes under the shifter. The moment i take my toes away its straight out of gear
Definatly the detent spring I'd say as your first post indicated that you could not select any other gear, if you can't get a detent spring straight away I have a spare I can express post up to you Monday (Anzac day tomorrow PO closed)
 
The clutch has to come out as it is behind it up to right top side behind another spring and the detent can, it is a pita to do so you will need a fair bit of patience a extra long needle nose pliers and a long flat bladed screwdriver

Thanks hanso your a champion mate. so do i have to remove the clutch plates to get to this spring? ive been searching this site but cant find it

Okey dokey thanks mate . I found a good video on here on how to remove that stuff so im confident i can handle that. If you could send me that spring that would be awesome mate ill paypal the cost of the spring and postage and some beers for ya :cool:
 
Will do first thing Monday but will check to see if PO opens in the arvo tomorrow, I know Wooles and Coles and some shops are open after 1pm tomorrow, if it is open I will send tomorrow
