Gawd (y)- who would buy that?

In answer to my own thread Topic - An idiot - me!;):(:D

After leaving it parked for months I just drained the oil and took off the sump and despite running fine and even being ridden gently to load it into a trailer in Brisbane I discovered 4 large shattered gear teeth and lots of metal fragments. Made my year so far! Wish I had a spare engine too!;):whitstling::rolleyes:

Appears to be 4 gear teeth and a collar or roller bearing shell of some sort.

Anybody got any guesses of which parts? @warp9.9 @Claviger

This is why I say no matter what if you engine is split open you should send the transmission shafts complete to Robinson's Industries and also pay for their new billet fourth gear which you can clearly see is stronger :D OEM on the Left Robinson's on the Right

Ah sexy Machinist pictures :D

Bingo - You nailed it @warp9.9 :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

It looks like All the bits I have found in the sump screens were from that 4th gear.

Am I likely to find much damage to other bits when the case is split?
I wonder how much more of that gear is shattered and flung elsewhere in the engine or do all the big bits fall into the sump?
Is the remainder of 4th gear likely to still in position and not effecting operation of 1st - 3rd gear as long as it stays intact?

I am not intending to start and ride it, just trying to understand existing likely damage.

We have a donor! A very rough one!

Being picked up today in Perth by Tony Gosse @Granada and his very strong son!;):D Thanks to all!

Edit
Geezuz!! I am glad I sent you some cash for expenses etc Tony, I just saw it is 2 hours each way. Hopefully catching up with your son that way will be enjoyable. You had better sling him a carton of his favourite drink out of that too! Give me a buzz if you need more.
