From everything I've heard and experienced there seems to be a pretty distinct progression in suspension upgrades. Progressives are the least expensive and a noticeable improvement over stock. Hagons seem to be a bit better than Progressives. Penske, Ohlins and Wilbers are in a different league and their prices reflect that.
I've only seen Wilbers on BMWs and many consider them comparable to Ohlins. Ohlin makes shocks for a wide range of bikes and is probably the most widely used of the premium brands. Which should make it easier when rebuild time rolls around. I've never used Penske, no have I ever know anyone who has.
Another alternative is Race Tech. They make a wide range of products and I know they created a setup just for the R3T. I have no experience with their products but a local Triumph mechanic speaks very highly of them.
