Rider Magazine reviewed the new Kawasaki 1700 Voyager and, I have to say, that it is what I want Triumph to do with the Rocket. I'm a touring rider and the Rocket/R3T engine is a great platform to build up to something like the big Kaw. Fixed fairing, cruise control, sound system, trunk, etc. Does anyone have inside knowledge if Triumph is going to come out with something like this?

I learned from Dink that Triumph approached Corbin on a fairing for the r3t and discovered they're QC wasn't up to snuff. Yes they are working on decking out the tourer with a fairing and trunk. I think they are doing it in Italy. Don't have any timeline tdragger so stay tuned. Going to the unveiling of the new Ducati Sat. and will ask more about it.

There are talks between European dealers about a dressed-up Touring for the forthcoming model year. Not my riding style but, regardless, I sure hope Triumph retunes it to a decent HP level, say at least 120, vs the current 40% castration

I'll be there too. Actually, I forgot about the Ducati deal. I'm picking up my R3T and dropping off my Tiger for its 500 mile service.

If I had 1/10th the talent that Lon has I would do it. It was a real treat seeing Blackie in person. I wish I had taken more time to just look and find all the incredible levels of detail that he has on it. When was the last time you saw an FXRT on the road? It's been at least 20 years for me. So while standing there staring at Lon's FXRT fairing on Blackie, wouldn't you know that an FXRT goes rumbling by. Weird coincidence.

Talk is cheap.

If I was Triumph, I'd say exactly the same thing.

Somehow, I think it had more to do with profit margins than quality. Actually, I don't believe quality ever came into the equation. Corbin isn't going to slice the pie for Triumph when they can have all the pie. If it comes from Italy, it will be marginal availablilty and expensive. It will be a quality piece at a lear jet price. The profit margin on OEM/outsourced/afterparts is outrageous.

I'd never own a Duck for one reason. Desmodronic Valve actuation. Typically, service on a Duck requiring valve adjustment is a grand and it's not something you can 'do at home in the driveway'. Makes shim-over-bucket seem like childs play.

I'd own a Guzzi Norge in a minute if the dealer network was as good as Triumph is bad. Screw type valve actuation, dry clutch...Guzzi pioneered the torque negating drive shaft (that BMW copies), ABS brakes...what a sport tourer. Problem is, there are only about 10 dealers in the country.
