Front tyre choices

Real world pre-fitment shelf life is closer to 2 or 3 years - especially if you NEED it to perform well once fitted. Also depends how it's stored.

Do you have anything on paper about this 2-3 years time frame?
I don't, I have worked with tire experts several times over the years on legal cases and was just parroting what I have been told.

Nope - nothing on paper. Just experience from tyre places in UK, Germany and here.
My mates bike shop returns tyres sent to him from wholesalers with more than 2 years on.
My tyre place here sells off 3 year tyres at near to cost. Useful for the Land Rover.
Old tyres do wear faster once fitted - this I have seen.

The tyre may be safe - but it will not perform as it should once it's old.

How would you know??? yours seems to be in the air a lot therefore not wearing out??

I know a lot of you have found good results using the Avon Cobra front tyre in conjunction with the Excedra Max rear, however has anyone got results for the use of the Excedra front tyre as well? I'm looking to change both tyres in the next month or two & any advice is welcome.
I've just fitted this Bridgestone rear tyre 160 wide on my front wheel although is going to be trike.
