fly or sport screen

My mate came back from central west NSW last summer and you couldn't see through the screen at all for the grasshoppers. It was disgusting. Top of his helmet too and his arms. He was pulling them out of the cooling fins and everywhere else on his Harley for months. He swears by screens for that reason alone.

Ok I bought a Bell custom 500 with a shield. It worked great. At 105mph it did not feel like it was trying to take my head off. So now which one of the screens looks better?

Can anyone tell me where to buy a fly screen to fit my 08 R3?
Get a hold of Andy at North County Yahmaha he will chase one down if they are available. If yours is Phantom black you will have better luck. The sports screen is the same shape only you can see thru it.

here is his e-mail contact
andy@ncyyamaha.com

Send him a message he will not blow you off unless he is off work. In that case he will answer as soon as he gets back.
Good guy great prices with shipping to your door.

I'm 6'1" and have a Roadster. initially I didn't have a screen as i don't particularlty care for them. I decided totry a sports screen as they are transparent and don't alter the styling.
While I didn't notice excessive wind blast before I do notice as improvement with it.

I have a touring screen on my 07 classic that measures 450mm in height from the top of the headlights. I'm 5'10" and I look over the top of the screen even at its highest setting. Its great until I hit 90kph and then I get smashed by the buffeting up to highway speed and beyond. If I can't reduce the buffeting to a manageable level using the minor adjustments the screen allows I may have to get rid of it. I dont really like the look of the lowers. Love riding it without the screen but notice a massive difference.

the Roadster screen (Tallest Triumph one) is great cool weather and when having to travel thru the rain. The summer screen is what I would prefer on trips if the weather is hospitable. I always carry the sports/fly screen on Rocket get together trips and switch out at the motel.

i Can only comment on the fly screen as thats what i use , takes the pressure off your chest and allows you to relax your shoulders , the wind hit me just above the eyes and passes over my helmet without any head bounce. Im 6foot tall and 4 foot across the shoulders lol. i rode over 5000klm last year in 10 days and it did its job well

I am between two screens

I just did 4500 miles during RAA on a roadster with a fly screen and a beanie helmet. About the only thing the flyscreen protects is my gauges and gps. I have made the trip to Maggie Valley behind a roadster screen and it makes for a much more comfortable ride, just dont like the look
