Heat tape on

Thanks Snuff. Spent $50 bucks for the tape and silicon spray. Kinda like anything once you do it, you figure out how to do it right! I suppose 3-4 hours of fiddling around. I do think it helps some with the heat on the leg, a real stretch would say it helps with the decel pops when warm. I could not fit the mid chrome pieces back on the Jars, no way. Don't know what to think right now about the chrome at all.

I had tape on two bikes of mine and it rotted both pipes over time. The worst was my Buell S1. It really did a number on those pipes.
 
That's good info, I'll keep an eye out for that and re- rap the pipes from time to time. Not sure how long that tape last. Not to wet or humid here so hopefully I'll have better luck.
 
Mine was exposed to a fair amount of moisture. You might be ok.
 
I was concerned about my pipe rusting too, so I just wrapped my leg with it instead. Seems to work pretty good, if you don't do it too tight.
