Exhaust Leak!

Finally started the Rocket this morning! Looks like I have an exhaust leak coming from the bung where the oxygen sensor used to be and where I have placed the bung that Jardine supplies. Should I just torque this more? Should the bung be totally inserted into the pipe so no threads are visible? Any quick tips appreciated!

Did you put some teflon tape on the threads?

I just inserted the bung. Didn't use any teflon tape. I don't have any handy but could go pick some up. Would have been nice of Jardine to say something along those lines! Any other material that would work? Thanks Scott!

Thanks bonecarver. I ended up using an exhaust cement and it seems to have done the trick.

I love the deep low rumble of the Jardines. Freaking awesome. Just dropped the Rocket off for new tires and front springs. Can't wait to take her out for a rip tonight!

Switch to the Progressive springs. If you have the OEM shocks add TWO clicks to the rear.

Also have a bud check your static sag (you sit, they measure). Anything over 15mm is TOO much so add preload (like two clicks up on OEM shocks) until it is 15mm or less.

Anyone that thinks the shocks are bad usually has them set too soft so the springs compress a lot when they sit on it (taking up most of the useful travel of the shock). Adding more preload adds useable travel so the shocks feel much less harsh over square pavements.

Spot on re the rear shocks. I still have the OEMs on mine (unfortunately) but recently set them on 3 instead of 1. Had no idea it would make such a big difference. I tried them on 4 as well but it was actually worse again. I'm not a huge weight (80kg) but the 3 setting seems to do the job nicely enough for now - until I can afford Hagons.
