Do 2014 non-CA Roadsters come fitted with evaporative loss systems? Anyone from the east, midwest or south have an R3R with the charcoal canister fitted in font of the rear wheel?
OK, most motorcycles and cars sold in CA have to have these. There is a loop from the tank to a charcoal canister and back to the throttle bodies. Vapors are trapped on the charcoal canister, located on the T-Bird under the bike mounted in front of the rear tire, then sucked off the cartridge when valves are told to open, and into the throttle bodies. I had this on my 2012 T-Bird and it didn't work right, causing the engine to randomly stall. They finally ripped it all out - problem solved - my state (NV) didn't require this. I heard that all new Triumphs were going have to meet the CA pollution standards. I don't know if this is true or if any of the new Roadsters have this system (which isn't shown in the old Rocket manual but might be described in the Roadster supplement). I wouldn't want this on my bike and if it is possible to get an R3R from a state where the imports don't have them, I'd do it.
