smantsy pantsy! roadster, classic, standard blah blah blah details all the same anyway ... frame and engine but mine is none of the mentioned anymore it is now a JD special and after changing both output shaft bearings in my garage ,(with the help of many experienced captains)I can report that it runs very smoothly did before and after the swap and I found out early about the bearings because the smoothness had somehow dissipated and a coffee grinder vibration and noise became apparent so your vibration is NOT a reasonable assumption it should be smooth period.

Yes I have albertaduke. I would have thought that Triumph may have thought of that and covered the costs. I did take a sample before i gave it to Motorad to send the Rocket to Triumph NZ. They have the resources and funds, you would think that they would like to find out what the problem is and I am sure that the Factory back in the UK would cover costs under the 2 year factory warrantee that a new triumph motorcycle is covered under.

I would say YES to that, but I am hoping that I am wrong. There is the issue of the condition of the oil too. I have never seen the oil so filthy or get so filthy so fast. To me, it looks like something is breaking down. There is a dark grey/black film underneath the filthy oil that coats everything it comes into contact with. In my experience with drag racing engines, this is the mains bearings breaking down or some other bearings breaking down. Sometimes this can be down to the type of oil that is being used. My first 2 Rockets only had Mobil 1 in them and the oil was clean all of the time with no vibration at all. I believe Triumph now use Castrol. When I took my 2013 Roadster to Experience Motorcycles in North Shore Auckland in February this year, they checked the oil and they found that the viscosity of the oil was crap and it had lost its viscosity to the point where I could see and feel it in the oil itself. The mechanic and workshop foreman did not like what they saw in that oil. They contacted Motorad to ask them what oil they were using in my Rocket.
