I just removed the secondaries and now my engine light came on, is this normal? At first it wouldn't start but smoothed out, now in the progress of 12 minute tune. Will the light go out?

Update

Turned bike off and try to restart, no can do. It sounds like it's out of time will not idle. So. I did i do wrong or miss

the bike doesn't start or still does not run good?

do a good 12 minute tune.
if you have problem with engine light, get TuneECU and a cable and look into it, and probably reset it. these things have happen, i heard.

just removing the secs does not "destroy" the bike (unless you lose the screws down the intake) so you should be fine. have you done other mods as well at the same time?

That's ALL you were doing/did, removed the secondaries?
You need to back-track your steps because something is unplugged.
Think about it this way .... you just took metal plates off a moving throttle bar, the bikes computer doesn't have a clue that they are missing right? There is no way that it can .... unless .... something in the area was knocked/left loose or came unplugged.
ALL your plate screws are accounted for?
The throttle bar isn't stuck/jammed for some reason? (it needs to still be moving when the bike is on) You can check that visually by observing it from the outside (if everything is assembled) or inside (if the air plenum is still off the bike) and cycling the ignition. If it is not moving at all, the stepper motor is unplugged.
Not having the temp sensor properly plugged in will set an engine light but it wouldn't run poorly as you described. A LARGE vacuum leak can make it run bad, but may not set off the light right away.
Check the obvious first and let us know if you found anything. I'll get the book out and see if there are more possible causes.

Update

Going to look and see if something came unplugged. That is all i did was remove the secondaries. Feel free to call 209-384-3618
replacing that plastic thing was a pain.

Update

Everything looks plugged. If that plastic thing does not seal can that effect it? When i looked at things that part just fell off and didn't seal.

There are no mods to bike. It wants to puke through the throttle body

If you rotated the rod holding the secondaries it might throw a CEL. It should go out after a few heat cycles of the engine. Or you could rotate it back and see if that fixes it.

Update

The only thing i can think of is that air plastic thing is not sealing. My hands are too big to get it to mate to the part under the seat and tighten. The brass ring keeps falling off. I'll attempt this morning and otherwise to the dealer we go.

Is there a trick to get that thing to mate to the other part ?

The air plastic thing as you call it shoiuld have been used as a coffee cup holder and you should have installed the K&Ns air filter set.
Once you get it running okay the engine light will go out, I had one check engine light that took 45miles to go out.

K&N

I like the triple k&n look and after going over the directions where does the plug go after unscrewing it from the tail pipe i don't see that picture. I'm going to the dealer on tues . I curious what i did wrong. I think it's that fricken plastic wisgidget aint sealing against that other fricken plastic thing,

this is my only area of concern due to I cant get my hand in there for the two to mate. this would cause the major vacuum leak.

if i go the triple look due i need an exhaust system. more air in, more air out.

thanks for all your advice. I'm to modifying the rocket and learning at a snails pace.
